As you may already know I stopped at Kona Skatepark on the beginning leg of TheRippinGypsy trip this past summer and camped there with RedBull Dave. Well ten of us got into our buddy Aarons van a.k.a. "TheUnit" and ripped on up to Kona this past weekend. Mother nature wasn't on our side but that didn't stop us. We got neckter down the infamous snake runs and feel fun was had by everyone. On our way back the unit broke down and we had to push her to a gas station. There we hung out for a few hours and luckily Aarons girlfriend was able to come pick us up!! Thanks to RedBull Dave for having us and letting us rip and also to the girls that went out of their way to help us dudes out:) Good Stuff

I started TheRippinGypsy for viewers to follow the cycle trip im doing this summer. Im going to circumnavigate the United States via mountain bike with bmx in tow. Should be a wild one.

Cycling shoes V.S. Cycling boots

Well these boots have a good story. This past September, Jeff Smee and I pedaled our bmx bikes an interesting 850 miles. Parallel with the Greater Allegheny Passage to Washington D.C. Down the Outter Banks. Threw the rain, sweat, and blood. It was a damn good time. Seeing that our bikes were brake less, our shoes went threw hell. While cycling threw Jacksonville N.C. we lurked into a Army surplus store. With cool survivor gadgets all around, we had a good old time. Seeing that my walmart $12 skate style shoes werent holding tight, I noticed on the wall some sweet boots. Tried on a pair, and felt like i was rippin down the line. Asked the fella how much and couldnt believe my ears........ $10 bucks. Hell yeah. These are as old as i am and still shredding. Now... pedaling south, and where ever the hell else. Might not look like an ideal cyclist shoe, but who says boots wont work. Cycling boots wins!

This spot was a funny find. I honestly really dont know the story behind it but someone made this cool looking house object with fake snow for something. It was rad seeing Colt Fake riding a fake snow covered house. Point of the post is, its always fun to stumble upon spots that you havnt riden before. So go out n get you some!

I was pedaling to the trails today and was on the side of the road as usual. Being a two lane road, cars are able to pass with ease. This young kid driven didnt feel the same and hollered out his window "get out of the road! cars cant pass you" or something like that. Pissed off, i thought how rad it would be to knock this little dumbass out, but that wouldnt solve to much now would it. Doing the pedal trip to Tampa now twice, you get a good feel of the roads. I took this photo downtown Tampa while riding bmx.

Tampa....... Take 2

Recently purchased a mountain bike threw my close friends at OBMX!, and after getting this machine, the first thing that comes to mind, is to put gnar miles on it, and thats when Tampa calls. I got my first century under my belt last month and was super stoked on the accomplishment, and was hungry for more.
This past weekends trip was nice. Arriving into Tampa in the PM, i met up with Matt and Wade at the taco bus and ate a much needed supper. The burrito hit the spot and forgot about my sun burned for head and knees. After that we called it a night and were looking forward to a long days sesh. We called up Tom V and headed into Clearwater Beach, which host the og. Hooters. Did all the eyeballin my eyeballs could do and figured it was time to ride some bmx. First spot was a little gib nib, and bam! the one and only Hulk Hogan rips by on a scooter hahahah. So stoked we canceled that spot and moved on. Bombs some gaps down grass hills, and so babe hollerin down the beach.
After pedaling around all day we dipped into a local pizza joint and got pitted. With a full belly and a thirst for booze it was off to Ybor and its gnarly night life. Forest took Wade and I out for some wild n the streets. $12- all you can drink, P.B.R. or wells, turned into a good night.
Woke to a warm beer and Matt ready to hit the streets, we got some grub and decided it was time to sweat out the dranks. Hit some spots around Matts house. Tom V killed it the whole weekend!
The pedal back to O-Town was hell. Little did i know i was going to come face to face with a 20 mile an hour head wind. With an average speed of 8, really didnt make the time i was looking for. With a nursing sun burn on the for head, along with my knees, i was pissed. All n all, it was a fun weekend and a safe trip there and back, and thats que pasa.

I recently went on a little voyage to tampa. The trip down was nice, a bit hung over from the night before (seeing that it was my birthday)so i was able to get 40 of the 100 miles in and decided to set up camp just outta Lakeland. Weather was rad, therefore not needing to set the tint up. Met up with some dudes for a trip up to Gainesville. Some good riding went down with a bit of partying. After seeing some gators and a bit of rain it was time to cruz back home and ended up rippin a century for a first. Super pumped on the trip and looking forward to it again sometime!

Mike and his roomates were nice enough to take in a stranger and stayed a week. Got to see some beautiful mountains and also the chance to rip those really fast go carts around the outdoor track. Brooks and I had a raging supper the other night let me tell ya. For starters we had the infamous Jalapeno Poppers prepped by Brooks. After engulfing those we watched the bloody pork chops cook. Fried a few stove top and also tenderized some in the oven. Pork chop with a dip in some garlic mashed potatoes and your one stoked dude/dudet. Till next concoction, stay warm!

Went out on a adventure this past weekend out to New Synmera Beach. Met T.M.P. and others for a night in the woods down by the river. While pedaling towards the evening hours,temps drop for a chilly ride out. Nice rolling up to a fire a blazing and beers already popped. yesterdays day was spent on shooting guns that consisted of a, 12 gage shotgun,.38 pistol that was fought in ww2.(that made my left ear ring like no other) .22 rifle and also a .22 pistol. i was able to shoot a few shots but was a little more interested in trying to hit the oranges that mocked clay pigeons. all n all,its was a radical time and luckly no one got hit.thanks to Roper for letting us see his beautiful land and letting us feel a bit machoer then we really are.

sorry for the hiatus of updates.ive been on the road for the past month and a half with a close friend jeff smee.we pedaled our bmx bicycles some 800 plus miles.threw some seven or so states,across bridges and on the side of some gnarly roads. stoked on the safe trip! i am going to try to figure something out with showing the photos and short stories here sometime soon. so if you see me or what not, bust my ballz so i can get motivated haha. thats que pasa
